Beyond Breastfeeding: Maternal Mental Health & Support Every Mother Deserves
Host: Katie Wickham | Clinical Nurse Specialist & IBCLC
Info: A mother should never have to choose between feeding her baby and protecting her own wellbeing. Yet too often, the emotional needs of mothers go unseen while the focus remains on the baby. Infant feeding and maternal mental health are deeply connected, but our health systems, workplaces, and communities often treat them as separate issues. This session explores the importance of recognizing and supporting maternal mental health throughout the breastfeeding journey, and why breastfeeding success must never come at the expense of a mother's wellbeing.
Discover how compassionate, informed, and collaborative care can help ensure mothers are listened to, supported, and cared for — because breastfeeding should never depend on a mother's endurance alone.
