About this Event
Fête Gede Festival of the Ancestors / Day of the Dead is an African ancestral tradition preserved in Haiti - and we're celebrating on October 31st as the closing celebration of “From Venice with Love”. This is a night designed for gathering: good food, shared company, and music that carries the spirit of the African and Caribbean Diaspora.
Join us for an evening surrounded by the work of Edouard Duval-Carrié—with galleries filled with his art and projections illuminating The Betsy Orb. The night features music by DJ Gardy and authentic Kreyòl paella prepared fresh on site. Costumed guests are invited to enjoy one complimentary rum cocktail, courtesy of Bacardi.
Join the spirit of the night Top hats or bowler hats, purple headscarves and sashes, wooden walking sticks or staffs adorned with skulls, and face paint in white, purple, and/or black -- and for the ultimate finishing touch: one-eyed sunglasses.
