Join hand lettering instructor Hilary King of Lettered in Local for a cozy, beginner-friendly Modern Calligraphy workshop at Elevated Cat Café in Longmont.

This is not your typical creative class. It’s an after-hours experience where you’ll learn the foundations of modern calligraphy: basic strokes, letter formation, and how to build beautiful lettering, all while sharing space with adoptable cats who may or may not respect your workspace.

And honestly… they usually don’t.

Bonus Cat Time (5:30 PM)Doors open at 5:30 PM for optional early arrival time to hang out, play, and interact with the cats before class begins. Because let’s be real — that’s half the reason we’re all here.

Class instruction begins at 6:00 PM.

What to Expect

• Expect cats on tables.
• Cats inspecting ink.
• Cats drinking your water like they pay rent.
• And at least one moment where you realize you are no longer in control of your workspace.

It’s all part of the experience.

What You’ll Learn

You’ll be guided through the basics of modern calligraphy, including foundational strokes, letter structure, and how to start forming words and phrases with confidence.

No experience needed, this is a true beginner class.
