One of the most cherished traditions of the Alliance Française de Sarasota, our weekly French Conversation Group has been bringing members together for years under the expert guidance of Charles Schlotter.
Each week, Charles carefully reads and selects a variety of fascinating articles about contemporary life, culture, current events, and society in France. Participants receive the articles in advance, allowing everyone to come prepared for engaging and thought-provoking discussions.
The conversations are conducted entirely in French and are lively, entertaining, intellectual, and often filled with humor. One week the discussion may explore serious cultural or academic topics; the next, it may be lighthearted and jovial. The exchange of ideas is always stimulating and enriching.
This group is especially well suited for students at the B1-B2 level and above. However, learners who simply wish to improve their listening comprehension and become more comfortable hearing spoken French are warmly encouraged to join.

Non-members: $5 per session
