Before dubstep became a global phenomenon, there was a sound being forged in the underground of the UK—dark, stripped-down, heavy, and built for the sound system.
Caspa was there.
A true architect of the genre, West London’s Gary McCann—better known as Caspa—helped define the sound of early dubstep and push it far beyond its UK roots. From founding Dub Police and Sub Soldiers to the legendary FabricLive.37 mix with Rusko, Caspa played a pivotal role in bringing dubstep to the world.
His production and remixes have left their mark on artists including The Prodigy, Depeche Mode, deadmau5, and Swedish House Mafia, but his greatest legacy is the sound he helped create.
And joining him is another true original.
THE WIDDLER has spent years perfecting the art of deep, hypnotic, sound-system-driven dub. Born in Tel Aviv and now based in Austin, his music moves effortlessly between reggae-infused dub, deep atmospheric grooves, and some of the most menacing low-end in bass music.
A longtime member of the Deep Dark & Dangerous, MalLabel, Dank 'N' Dirty Dubz, and Sub.mission family, The Widdler has shared stages with Tipper, Caspa, Truth, Excision, Bassnectar, Downlink, Doctor P, Reso, and Mary Anne Hobbes, among many others.
This isn't just another bass show.
This is a celebration of the roots.
The sound.
The culture.
The low end.
The pioneers who helped build it.
