About this Event
Join RRVWC club member Patty Molm for a fun, hands-on class carving this charming Highland cow using the intaglio style of woodcarving. Intaglio carving is a technique where the design is carved down into the surface of the wood rather than raised above the background, creating depth through recessed lines, textures, and details.
Students will learn how to create the cow’s shaggy coat, shape its facial features, and add the whimsical butterfly perched on its nose. This project is a wonderful introduction to intaglio carving while creating a delightful Highland cow to take home. All skill levels are welcome.
The class is $50 for club members and $55 for non-members to be paid to Red River Valley Woodcarvers. This includes the blank fee.
Our classes are held at the Moorhead American Legion Post 21 at 303 N. 30st St. Class starts at 9:00 am, with a break at 10:30 for the Red River Valley Woodcarvers meeting. After the meeting is lunch. A cheeseburger basket is included in the class fee. You will need to purchase your own beverage. You are welcome to go out for lunch, but no outside food or drink is allowed in the Legion.
