About this Event
Carnival Magic returns to the Tower Ballroom as part of the 10th anniversary celebrations of Lightpool Festival, with an extra special evening filled with your favourite puppets and performances with some brand new, exciting twists, never seen before in the Tower Ballroom.
Professional and community performers come together in an exhilarating journey through wild nature, fiery fantasy, futuristic fun and a spectacular celebration of light, joy and togetherness.
From giant hand-crafted puppets and incredible costumes to powerful drumming, mesmerising movement and explosive surprises, this year’s show promises something unforgettable for all ages.
A WILD WORLD OF NATURE
The show bursts into life with a colourful takeover of fauna and flora. Giant Peacock Puppets roam amongst twirling Flower Dancers and enormous butterflies, accompanied by high-energy drumming and irresistible carnival rhythms.
FIRE, FURY & FANTASY
As the excitement builds, expect fire, drama and a few spectacular surprises before everything is plunged into darkness…
MEET IOLA 2.0
Out of the darkness rises IOLA 2.0 - the giant robot programmed to entertain! With her party-o-metre turned all the way up, she takes over the ballroom alongside her stilt-walking robot drummers, bringing a futuristic burst of music, movement and mayhem.
LIGHT, LOVE & CELEBRATION
As the journey reaches its spectacular finale, a glimmer of hope begins to emerge, creating a joyous celebration of light, love and togetherness.
One by one, performers and puppets return to the dance floor, building towards a breathtaking crescendo of carnival energy and bringing the audience right into the heart of the celebration.
JOIN THE MAGIC
And the magic doesn’t have to end when the show does! After the performance, audiences are invited to meet the performers and some of the spectacular characters, with the perfect opportunity to capture a Carnival Magic selfie.
Celebrate 10 years of Lightpool Festival with an unforgettable night of music, movement, fire, puppetry and surprises.
