Caribbean Migration before the Windrush lecture with Danny Thompson

What is the real story of economic migration in the Caribbean before the Windrush?

The real story of Caribbean migration begins in the 19th century. During that century, over a million Africans in the Caribbean migrated to other islands and to South and Central America. Hear their stories, their economic and spiritual motivations. This hidden history puts the later Windrush migration in its proper Afro-centric context.

Danny Thompson, one of the founders of The Black Secret Education Project, will explore this rarely spoken of history.
