CARIBBEAN CURRENTS
A Global Sonic Journey
Haitian-American pianist and composer Assel Jean-Pierre Jr. brings Caribbean Currents to Chelsea Table + Stage, blending classical virtuosity, jazz improvisation, gospel soul, and Haitian and Afro-Caribbean rhythms into a dynamic live experience.
Joined by his trio and featured vocalist Sheimyrah Mighty, Assel moves from intimate piano moments to high-energy grooves through original compositions, fresh arrangements, and reimagined favorites. Having performed from Carnegie Hall to stages across Haiti, Europe, and the U.S., Assel brings that global musical perspective to a show celebrating the sounds that flow across islands, generations, and genres.
Executive produced by Cliché Wynter-Mayo, Caribbean Currents is an intimate, rhythm-filled night built around exceptional musicianship, cultural connection, and the spontaneity of live performance.
