Understanding Big Behaviors: Brain-Based Insights helps parents support the development of executive function (EF) skills—like planning, attention, memory, and task management—in children who have experienced trauma. Trauma can impair EF, leading to behaviors often mistaken for defiance, which can trigger anger and punishment. This training teaches caregivers to recognize EF challenges as the root cause of many difficult behaviors and provides practical strategies to strengthen EF skills, reducing frustration for both children and caregivers.
