Discover the magic of fluid art and preservation in this hands-on introduction to resin casting. In this workshop, you will learn how to transform liquid epoxy resin into stunning, crystal-clear keepsakes. Whether you want to preserve delicate botanical elements, suspend shimmering pigments, or create faux-stone effects, this class covers the fundamental techniques needed to bring your vision to life.
By the end of the session, you will have designed and poured your own custom pieces, ready to be cured and taken home.
What You Will Learn
1. Workspace Setup & Safety
Prerequisite
Understand the essential safety protocols for working with epoxy resin, including proper ventilation, personal protective equipment (PPE), and how to set up a spill-proof home workspace.
2.The Science of the Pour
Mixing Fundamentals
Learn the critical 1:1 mixing ratios, how to stir to minimize stubborn air bubbles, and how temperature affects your curing time.
3.Color & Embedding Techniques
Design Phase
Explore how to tint resin using mica powders, alcohol inks, and liquid pigments. Master the art of layering to suspend delicate botanicals, glitters, or charms perfectly in the center of your piece.
4.Demolding & Finishing touches
Final Steps
Learn how to safely remove pieces from silicone molds and techniques for sanding or doming edges to get a smooth, professional, high-gloss finish.
