VINYL FAIR TAKES CENTRE STAGE AT THE WPCC BOWLING CLUB, 25 OCTOBER 2026.Do you remember the experience of listening to music played on a record player? The little surface
“noise”, “snap crackle & pop” followed by rich and rewarding music emanating from a black disc?
Listening to your favorite songs and albums after “dropping” the needle onto the record? Get set for the home music event happening at the WPCC Bowls Clubhouse on 25 October 2026, from
08:30 to 14:00. The Cape Town Hi-Fi Club in collaboration with the WPCC is hosting an LP record and CD sales market, Vinyl Fair, in the Bowls Clubhouse. The fair promises to be a must visit gathering
for music fans, audiophiles, enthusiastic listeners – in short, every individual member of the modern family who loves music.
We will host 15 dealers who will offer around 6000 records to choose from. You can spend some time “crate digging”, searching for that special record you remember or have been searching for. It’s more than just an event to feed nostalgia. It provides the opportunity to get LP records, the music source that we
know and love, and to experience the warm organic sound of vinyl records in your own home. Many dealers also sell CDs, another tangible music format that requires closer interfacing with music
equipment. In addition to that, there will be static displays of equipment and turntable dealers and repairers will be on hand to provide hardware and advice regarding repairs and servicing of turntables. More mature listeners who remember the time when home entertainment used to be a family affair
and usually meant sitting huddled around the radiogram and listening to music on records.
Whether your preference is hip-hop, rock, jazz or Golden Oldies, the vinyl fair promises something to
suit a wide range of budgets and tastes. Hipster or pensioner, missing middle or working class, this fair
will allow you to find music that can support your home entertainment lifestyle to the fullest, whether its a shared experience or individual listening pleasure. Snacks and a selection of soft drinks, coffee and tea will be available throughout the day. All ages welcome and entrance is free.
