FREE WorkshopThis session is about taking the next step in your photography — taking off the training wheels, so to speak, and beginning to use your camera’s controls to put your stamp on the images and video you create. We start with a quick review of a few extremely important camera controls, and then explain the three photographic fundamentals: shutter speeds, lens apertures and ISO settings. We realize that for some of you, this is a very basic review. But for those who have begun their photographic trek in fully automatic settings, such as the “Green Zone” shooting mode, gaining the understanding of how these three elements work can be a transforming moment.
With that in mind, the Get Creative! session goes on to explore the following:
• Understanding the Three Pillars of Photography
• The Primary Exposure Modes
• Exposure Control — precisely controlling the brightness of your images and video
• Image Control — using your camera to fine-tune the look of your images
• Working with Autofocus — taking control and focusing quickly upon your primary subjects
• Understanding Flash — opening the door to a whole new way of lighting
