Take a seat and order something- at 6:30PM, the house drops to candlelight and the music begins - you're welcome to come by anytime as the evening progresses. Costumes are encouraged!Space Travelers Union is the project of Ryan Wheless, a multi-instrumentalist, composer, curator, and producer whose work explores unexpected sonic realms that arise through collective presence, here celebrating the release of their album "Music In Real Live", recorded Live at The Century Room. Bridging acoustic folk instrumentation with modern jazz, their music brings together heartfelt rhythms, wide-open ambience, and the fleshy tactility of Americana. Grounded in improvisational freedom, repetition, and textural detail, their performances are immersive and genre-defying—at once cosmically spacious and deeply visceral.
Influenced by artists including Nate Mercereau, Carlos Niño, and Robert Glasper, Ryan approaches music as a sacred convergence of the ideas, experiences, and energies of the people making it together. For him, this emergent creativity is central to the meaning and importance of music: a way of creating space for disparate voices to meet, transform one another, and become something no one could have imagined alone.
Wheless's various performances have been heard over 1.1 million times and have been featured by BBC Radio 6 Music, Worldwide FM, Radio France’s FIP, YouTube Music’s Jazz Hotlist, and Bandcamp’s New & Notable. He serves as an independent curator and producer at Arizona Arts Live.
