# Candlelight Vigil for LifeAn Evening of Prayer and Remembrance
As we enter the month of November, when we pray for the souls of those who have gone before us, we invite you to join us for our annual Candlelight Vigil for Life.
This year, we are extending our November Vigil to remember not only the precious preborn children whose lives have been lost through abortion, but also those who have died through euthanasia and assisted suicide.
In 2024 alone, 17,785 unborn children lost their lives to abortion in New Zealand. Since euthanasia and assisted suicide became legal on 7 November 2021, more than 1,800 people have died through these practices.
Behind every number is a human life, precious in the eyes of God.
Faced with the tragedy of the culture of death, our first response must always be prayer.
We will gather to remember these lives, to entrust the departed to the infinite mercy of God, and to pray for the conversion of hearts, particularly those involved in or supporting abortion and euthanasia.
We will also pray for an end to these practices in our country, and for the courage to defend every human life from conception until natural death.
May this time together strengthen our faith, renew our hope, and inspire us to continue building a culture of life through prayer, education, and service.
Please join us for this special evening of prayer and remembrance. Together, let us witness to the sacredness of human life.
