Occupation Hurts Everybody
In our view, the problem of tens of thousands of murdered children in West Asia is rooted in Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories and fueled by the impunity with which the international community has allowed the Israeli military to enact land theft, illegal detentions, ethnic cleansing, and genocide.
Whether or not all Israelis are willing to acknowledge it, we recognize the damaging anti-life impact of Israeli occupation, not only on the Palestinian people, but also on Israeli children and the whole of Israeli society.
On October 10 in Christ Chapel at the Riverside Church in the City of New York, we will re-member, contemplate, and lament the lost and martyred children of the region in sacred space. We will begin to re-imagine a future in which such senseless deaths no longer occur.
