I’m walking this year for more than just awareness. I’m walking for my sisters. In June 2025, we lost my sister Shannon to brain cancer. Watching someone you love fight so hard and still lose that battle changes you. There’s a helplessness that comes with it… and a heartbreak that never fully goes away. Shannon was strength, light, and love — and even in her hardest moments, she showed courage that most people will never understand. She may have gained her wings, but she will always walk beside me.
And then there’s my sister Michelle — still fighting. Still showing up. Still battling stomach cancer with a warrior’s heart. I see the strength it takes for her to keep going, even on the days when it would be easier to give up. Cancer doesn’t just affect the person diagnosed. It affects families, children, siblings, and entire support systems. It changes holidays. It changes conversations. It changes everything.
This walk is personal.
It’s for Shannon’s memory.
It’s for Michelle’s fight.
It’s for the families who know the weight of waiting rooms, test results, and prayers whispered in the dark.
I’m walking because I don’t want another family to feel this kind of loss.
I’m walking because research, awareness, and support matter.
I’m walking because my sisters matter.
One sister is my angel.
One sister is my warrior.
And I will carry them both with every single step.
If you feel led to support, donate, share, or walk with me — it means more than you know. This isn’t just a fundraiser. It’s my heart.
