About this Event
Join Friends and the McKinley Park Development Council for a park litter clean up and to install hundreds of native plant plugs in the natural areas of Canal Origins Park! Volunteers will assist in removing invasive plants, installing plant plugs, and collecting trash from the park. This event is free, family-friendly, and open to all! Our community stewardship team will provide all of the tools necessary.
Friends is proud to partner with the McKinley Park Development Council to act as the community stewards of Canal Origins Park in Chicago's Southwest Side. Since 2019, we have invested in the health and restoration of this beautiful river-edge park by hosting regular litter cleanups and restoration events.
