About this Event
Can You Be Pro-Black and Use ChatGPT?
What does it mean to embrace artificial intelligence while advocating for Black communities? Can we use these tools while questioning who builds them, whose knowledge they draw from, and who benefits?
Join Milky Way Tech Hub and Ubuntu Research & Evaluation during Wisconsin Tech Month for a fireside chat featuring Linetta Alexander and Lex Rhodes. Together, we’ll explore the intersection of generative AI, Black identity, and collective progress.
This conversation will make room for curiosity, skepticism, and different perspectives as we consider:
- How bias and representation shape AI tools and their outputs.
- Questions of ownership, labor, privacy, and power.
- The possibilities and tensions of using AI for education, business, and community work.
- What it could look like for Black communities to help shape the future of AI.
Whether you use ChatGPT every day, avoid it altogether, or are still deciding how you feel, your perspective belongs in this conversation. No technical background is required bring your questions and an open mind.
