About this Event

Talk Description
Can Artificial Intelligence meaningfully change cancer outcomes? With perspectives from both a patient and a doctor, Professor Justin Yeung and Rebecca Eastwood, a cancer survivor, mum and lawyer, discuss the realistic potential and limits of AI-driven tools to improve cancer diagnosis and outcomes. This talk will highlight the lived experience of stepping “off normal protocol”, emphasising the uncertainty, trade-offs and emotional burden that accompany such decisions, as well as unpack the clinical reasoning that led to those choices and discuss where AI-driven dosing and prediction tools could plug into key moments of care. Together, Justin and Rebecca will illustrate how AI can move oncology towards personalised treatment, improve shared decision making, and ultimately enhance the patient experience without replacing clinical judgment.
