About this Event
Few plants capture the timeless beauty of a Southern garden quite like the camellia!
With their glossy evergreen foliage and spectacular blooms during the cooler months, camellias bring color and elegance to the landscape when so many other plants are resting.
Join us at Forest Lake Greenhouses for an educational workshop dedicated to growing and caring for these Southern favorites!
We'll explore the differences between Camellia japonicas and sasanquas, discuss how to choose the right variety for your landscape, and share our best practices for planting, fertilizing, pruning, and keeping your camellias healthy and thriving.
What we'll cover:
- Understanding japonicas vs. sasanquas
- Choosing the right location and growing conditions
- Proper planting and soil preparation
- Watering, fertilizing, and seasonal maintenance
- When and how to prune camellias
- Tips for encouraging beautiful, healthy blooms
Whether you're planting your very first camellia or looking to improve the care of an established favorite, this workshop will give you the knowledge and confidence to grow these gorgeous plants successfully.
Come learn, get inspired, and discover why camellias deserve a place in every Southern garden!
