Join us for a fascinating talk by Dr Kate Rhodes about the journey from poet to crime novelist, exploring the experiences and creative discoveries that have shaped her writing career. Award-winning author and poet, Kate is a Royal Literary Fellow at the University of Cambridge. With a background in English literature and experience teaching at universities in the UK and USA, Kate began writing poetry while living in America. Kate’s work has earned high praise from reviewers, with The Guardian describing her books as: “Beautifully written and expertly plotted, a masterclass in ‘closed world’ crime fiction.”
Join Kate as she shares her reflects on the challenges and rewards of a writing career, and discusses the experiences, techniques and creative decisions that have shaped her work across different genres.
The event is free to attend for Cambridge Writers members. Non-members are very welcome to attend, though a small £5 entry fee is requested on the night.
