đź’ˇWhat will we discuss?
The conference approaches reproduction broadly, including its individual, social, economic, and political dimensions. We welcome research addressing, among other topics:
- reproductive labour and the organisation of social reproduction;
- reproductive agency and reproductive rights;
- care and care work;
- gender, family, and intimate life;
- reproductive justice and inequalities;
- activism and social movements;
- economic and political dimensions of reproduction;
- migration and transnational reproduction;
- demographic change and population politics;
- knowledge production around reproduction.
Particular attention will be given to perspectives from Central and Eastern Europe, Southern Europe, other semi-peripheral contexts, and the Global South, and to how these perspectives challenge, complicate, or extend dominant approaches developed in Western contexts.
🎓 Call for PhD students
Selected PhD students will present their research in 15-minute paper presentations, followed by discussion and feedback from invited senior scholars and other participants.
We welcome:
• ongoing PhD research
• preliminary or work-in-progress findings
• completed empirical research
• theoretical and conceptual work
• methodological reflections
• emerging research ideas and projects
Your research does not need to be fully completed: RE:PRO is designed as a constructive space for discussion, feedback and developing ideas.
🤝 More than a conference
Alongside paper panels, the programme will include workshops on:
🎨 Social reproduction and feminist art
⚙️ Reproduction, economy and contemporary anti-gender mobilisations — in collaboration with COST Action CA23149
🔎 Epistemological and ethical challenges of interdisciplinary and transnational research
The programme will also include dedicated networking activities, creating opportunities to connect PhD students, early-career researchers and established scholars and to explore future collaborations.
