About this Event
Call Center Sundays: Connecting Mamas, One Call at a Time!
Grab your laptop, bring your phone, and help us remind moms that they are never alone!
Join YANA (You Are Not Alone) for Call Center Sundays, a meaningful volunteer opportunity where women come together to connect with new moms enrolled in our Strong Mamas, Thriving Babies program.
Our program provides mothers with support, resources, and community throughout their first year postpartum. One of the most important ways we do this is through personal phone calls, simply checking in, seeing how moms are doing, and reminding them that someone cares.
These moms haven't specifically requested a phone call, but regular outreach is one of the benefits of our program. Sometimes, a friendly voice and a simple "How are you doing?" can make all the difference.
What Will You Be Doing?
You'll join other women in a welcoming, supportive environment to make friendly outreach calls to new moms. These are not fundraising or sales calls! They're opportunities to offer encouragement, share available resources, answer basic questions about YANA, and help moms feel connected.
Here's the good news: About 80% of our calls go to voicemail! Most of the time, you'll simply leave a friendly, scripted message reminding moms that YANA is here for them. We provide the script, so you don't have to worry about what to say!
When a mom does answer, you'll have the opportunity to make a personal connection, check in, and remind her of the support available through our program.
No previous experience is necessary!
What to Expect
- First Time Volunteers: You'll complete an online training when you arrive, covering our program, how to make calls, confidentiality, and how to connect moms with additional support.
- Returning Volunteers: You'll jump right into making calls and connecting with moms.
- Everyone: Enjoy spending time with other women while making a meaningful difference in the lives of new mothers.
What to Bring
Please bring the following:
- Your own laptop or tablet, fully charged
- Your own cell phone to make calls
- A willingness to listen, encourage, and connect with moms!
Why It Matters
Since launching Strong Mamas, Thriving Babies in January 2024, YANA has supported more than 7,000 families. We know that motherhood can be overwhelming and isolating, and sometimes moms don't know how to ask for help.
That's why we reach out first.
You don't have to be a mental health professional or have all the answers. You just need to be someone who cares.
Whether you're having a heartfelt conversation or simply leaving a voicemail, every call is an opportunity to remind a mom that she matters and support is available.
Come make calls, build connections, and help us create generational mental health change, one mama at a time.
Because no mother should ever have to feel alone.
