Join our California Book Group in person to discuss The Castle on Sunset: Life, Death, Love, Art, and Scandal at Hollywood's Chateau Marmont, by Shawn Levy.Levy’s book is some dishy nonfiction: the definitive—and salacious—history of the iconic hotel that Hollywood stars have called a home away from home for almost a century. Dig into generations of gossip and folklore, naming names including Natalie Wood, Jim Morrison, Billy Wilder, Paul Newman, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Jim Belushi, Lindsay Lohan, and so very many more.
About the Author:
Shawn Levy’s other books include Rat Pack Confidential, Paul Newman: A Life, King of Comedy: The Life and Art of Jerry Lewis, and Dolce Vita Confidential. The former film critic of The Oregonian, he has written for Sight and Sound, Film Comment, American Film, Interview, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Guardian, The Black Rock Beacon, and The Hollywood Reporter.
