Once again, the 3rd Tuesday of the month is upon us, which means it's time to learn something new and connect with up-and-coming and established songwriters and artists alike at Canada's largest independent songwriters' group: The Calgary Songsmiths! Join us at Calgary's best-kept secret for original music!
Topic (7:00 PM): The Calgary Songsmiths are excited to welcome Calgary-based composer, songwriter, and producer Benjamin Howells, founder of Asota Studios. Through Asota, Ben and his team create original scores for international brands including Nike, Starbucks, Volkswagen, and Hennessy. Alongside his commercial work, he writes, records, and performs as the frontman of the alternative music project HOWELLS, nominated for Rock Recording of the Year at the 2025 YYC Music Awards. We'll chat about Ben's journey, his creative process, and how he's built an international, world-class clientele right here in Calgary!
Homework (optional):
October is a spooky month...write a song about something that scares you for some extra Songsmith points!
See you on the 20th!
