🦅🌲 Caledon State Park Eagles, Forest & Fossils Adventure (5–6 Miles) 🥾🦈
Join East Coast Hikers for an unforgettable adventure through one of Virginia’s most spectacular state parks! Caledon State Park is home to towering old-growth forests, peaceful woodland trails, scenic Potomac River overlooks, and one of the largest concentrations of bald eagles on the East Coast. December is one of the best times to visit, offering crisp hiking weather and excellent opportunities to spot these magnificent birds soaring overhead.
We’ll also have the chance to explore the Potomac River shoreline, where visitors occasionally discover fossilized shark teeth and other ancient marine fossils. While there’s no guarantee of finding one, it’s a fun bonus that makes this hike even more unique!
