About this Event
The holiday season can get a little hectic and for that, we introduce you to Cakemas: a celebration of all things sweet and those who love nothing more than a cozy afternoon baking up something to share. Inspired by the global Cake Picnic phenomenon, we've designed a smaller, cozier AND indoor soiree for our first cake event.
Guidelines: In addition to your ticket to Cakemas, each attendee should bring an 8 inch round (or larger/alternative shape) cake on a solid surface to share with the group. All cakes should easily cut into at least 16 pieces.
- Attendees may also choose to bring a cake stand for their cake. At minimum, cakes should come on a plate or cardboard cake round/square.
- Creativity and whimsy are encouraged! Bust out your piping tips, sprinkles, and fun flavor combinations. This is your moment to show off.
- Flavors celebrating the fall and winter are very welcome but not required. Cinnamon, mulled wine, pumpkin, gingerbread, peppermint, eggnog, caramel, sugar cookie, orange, cranberry...and beyond!
- But what if I can't bake but I LOVE cake? Not every cake needs to be homemade by you. If baking isn't your jam but you still want to play, no problem. We highly encourage you to enlist the help of Cha Cha's Hiland Bakery, Crème, Thistle Summit, the Bake Shoppe or any other local cottage or brick and mortar bakeries in creating your contribution.
How does it work?
We ask all cakes arrive, be labeled, and placed on the cake table by 2 PM that day. We'll have cards for you to post next to your cake to share its flavors and notes on major allergens. We'll draw for the order of the cake buffet line to make sure everyone has an equal chance of trying anything, alternating turns at the buffet aka first round: 8 slices, second round 8 slices, and so on. FlashDine DSM will provide plates, flatware, and drinks for attendees.
What should I bring?
Your cake, a cake stand/plate, you, and a sweet tooth! You may also want to bring a carrier or to-go container for leftovers.
