CAKE QUEST

CAKE QUEST is part bike race part Role-Playing Game.

Choose a faction to play and race as. To compete, visit as many of our selected 10 cake shops as possible, (locations will be released Friday evening) complete side quests, and (for the more daring) a main faction quest awaits you.

The more quests you complete and shops you visit, the more points you recieve. More points means more entries into the prize raffle.

This year we have some extra prizes! For the rider with the best outfit/costume/cosplay - A special prize will be provided by close friend of Chicane, Enchanted Sacks.

Our other extra prizes shall remain a secret ;)

Official start:

Our hub for the race will be at the fountain at Arnswalder Platz, 10407 Berlin. We start and finish there. (52.5329765, 13.4370944)

Arrive from 10am to pick up your start card

Race begins at 11am

The Cut-off is 5:00pm

The Prize Ceremony is at 5:30pm

If you finish much earlier, please come back to join for the Ceremony.

All riders will recieve an email Friday at 5pm containing race rules, quests, and the locations of 10 cake shops so you may plan a route in advance.

How to Play:

Step 1 - Choose Your Faction (listed below)

What do you value as a rider? Endurance, Speed, or Cunning? Pick an archetype that suits your riding style, and play as that faction for the day.

Step 2 - Join us for the official start

Pick up your race card - 10am onwards

Race Starts - 11am

Step 3 - Get Stamps!

Visit between 5-10 of the listed cake shops (locations announced Friday 5pm). Each shop has a unique stamp to collect

Step 4 - Eat Cakes!

(And no you don’t have to eat a cake at *every* stop)

Step 5 - Complete Side Quests

There are a number of General Side Quests, and faction related Side Quests. Complete more to gain more points.

Step 6 - Complete the Main Quest

Want to win a Grand Prize? Compete against your fellow faction members for your main quest. Please note, 2 of the 3 factions are open only to FLINTA riders.

Step 7 - Finish by 5:00pm

Meet us back at Arnswalder Platz by 5:00pm to have your race card checked, and your name entered into the raffle.

Step 8 - Win Prizes!

The ceremony will take place at 5:30pm. You (or someone on your behalf) must be there in person to collect your prize. Unfortunately if you won’t be there, we will have to draw someone else.

Prizes and Elegibility:

There are 2 prize pools; A raffle, and 3 Grand Prize bundles (1 per faction). We are so thankful to have an incredibly exciting range of fun prizes from a bunch of brands: X-Bionic, MAAP, Ass Savers, Attaquer, Castelli, Dachs, Hope tech, Strava, Sundlin, Veloroo, and Vetra Bikes! <3

Many of our quests require GPS tracking proof, so to be elegible for these you should track your ride, eg with Komoot and/or Strava

Raffle:

Earn points by collecting stamps at our 10 cake shops, and completing faction and general Side Quests. The more points you have, the more entries you will recieve for the raffle. Different quests will bag you different amounts of points, so stay tuned to recieve your race card and quests Saturday evening! Open to all.

Grand Prizes (Awarded by faction Main Quests):

Whilst you are free to choose your faction to play as, we have the following categories for the Main Quests only:

Paladins of Mettle (Endurance) - FLINTA

Wind Seekers (Speed) - FLINTA

Weavers of Ways (Cunning) - Open Category

Additionally you must start from the official start, and use our race card. You must visit all 10 cake shop locations to qualify.

You only qualify for the Main Quest of your faction.

Please note:

Chicane bike club is dedicated to creating a space forFLINTA* & queer folx to connect in nature through riding, free from the pressures of performance and speed which are sometimes associated with bike clubs. All levels of riding experience are welcome.

You must ride a bike, and please wear a helmet. You are responsible for your own safety and following of traffic rules. You must be registered to take part.
