Hello all! My name is Marie Christodoulou, the team secretary for the 2026-2027 year, and I am so excited to announce a special event occurring this fall - Cachuma Celebration! In the spirit of building camaraderie between the alumni, current athletes, and all supporters, we would like to invite the UCSB Rowing Community to join us the weekend of **November 7th** for a fun-filled day of casual racing, tacos, and connection!
In the morning, join us at Lake Cachuma for a Henley-style 500m sprint tournament in combined lineups with Alumni and current athletes in the first ever ***Cachuma Legacy Sprints***! Not a rower, or just want to watch? Our 500m stretch (complete with a starting dock!) has plenty of vantage points for spectators. Stick around to grab a breakfast burrito, purchase some gourmet cold brew from our very own Cachuma Cafe, and hear some words of wisdom from our coaches, Team Executives, and the SBRA board.
Later in the day, we’d like to invite you all to our humble abode, the Rowing Compound in Isla Vista, for a night of Roger’s Tacos and drinks (for the 21+). Take the opportunity to connect with old teammates, mingle with the team, and meet the next generation of novice Gaucho rowers! Address will be provided upon RSVP.
