See history through fresh eyes with local voices.Join artist and illustrator Giles Whitehead as he unveils the result of a unique creative project inspired by the collections of Maidstone Museum. Over six weeks, local participants have explored a selection of the museum's artefacts through drawing, poetry and storytelling, creating a collaborative artist's book that gives a new voice to Maidstone's history.
This showcase event will feature readings, artwork and behind-the-scenes insights from the participants themselves, revealing how history can bring fresh perspectives and unexpected stories.
The finished artist’s book will be on display at the museum celebrating a project that has brought together heritage, creativity and community in a truly original way.
