About this Event
Think astronaut training is only for scientists in high-altitude jets? Think again.
On Saturday, October 24, is bringing spaceflight conditioning down to Earth. Produced in partnership with, the Cabeus Games: TRAIN LIKE AN ASTRONAUT is an immersive, high-energy, half-day community event designed to let you move, think, and perform like a modern space explorer.
In real spaceflight, astronauts don't just need physical endurance—they must make high-stakes, split-second decisions and perform precision physical tasks while experiencing disorientation, extreme fatigue, and environmental stress. The Cabeus Games translate those exact astronaut physical standards into an approachable, team-driven workout on the turf.
Whether you're an everyday athlete or stepping up to a new fitness challenge, you’ll work in paired "flight crews" across six dynamic stations built to test your resilience.
What to Expect: The 6 Mission Stations
You’ll rotate through six 8-minute mission-inspired stations, each testing a distinct capability required for space exploration:
Station 1: EVA Surface Load & Translation
The Challenge: Simulates moving heavy exploration equipment and lunar samples across shifting gravity gradients.
Equipment: Heavy Sleds & Kettlebells.
Station 2: Cryo-Thermal Fine Motor Precision
The Challenge: Tests your dexterity, grip, and hand-eye coordination under thermal shock conditions—simulating space suit operation in shadowed lunar craters.
Equipment: Ice Buckets, Badminton Rackets & Birdies.
Station 3: Anti-Gravity Core & Trunk Stability
The Challenge: Challenges your core leverage, stability, and trunk control without feet firmly planted—essential for maneuvering in microgravity.
Equipment: Plyo Boxes, Slam Balls & Medicine Balls.
Station 4: Agility Astro-Course & Obstacle Cut
The Challenge: Adapted directly from NASA agility drills to test rapid direction changes, body control, and balance under pressure.
Equipment: Agility Ladders & Speed Hurdles.
Station 5: Cardiovascular Power & Cognitive Memory Stack
The Challenge: Pushes your maximum cardiovascular output while forcing you to solve mission-critical memory sequences while exhausted.
Equipment: SkiErgs, Whiteboards & NASA Memory Sequence Cards.
Station 6: Vestibular Spatial Disorientation Lane
The Challenge: Recreates sensory re-adaptation and spatial disorientation, testing your ability to navigate straight and capture targets after your balance system is disrupted.
Equipment: Ground-anchored Wiffle Ball Bats, Track Lanes & Target Balls
