„Día de los muertos“ eða „dagur hinna dauðu“ er upprunalega mexíkóskur frídagur og er honum fagnað um alla Mexíkó sem og annars staðar í hinum spænskumælandi heimi. Á deginum safnast fjölskylda og vinir saman til að minnast þeirra sem eru látnir.
Við ætlum að bjóða upp á grímugerð á Bókasafninu þar sem hægt er að búa til sína eigin grímu í anda hefðarinnar um “sykurkúpur” eða “sugar skulls” sem gjarnan eru búnar til í sambandi við þessa mexíkósku hátíð.
Að þessu sinni verður föndurstundin án aðstoðar starfsmanns en góðar leiðbeiningar, allt efni og skemmtilegar hugmyndir á staðnum.

Let’s Make Sugar Skull Masks
Come to the library and make a sugar skull mask for the Day of the Dead!
“Día de los muertos” or “Day of the Dead” is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and the rest of the Spanish-speaking world. On this day, family and friends gather to remember those who have died.
We will be offering a mask-making workshop at the library where you can make your own mask in the spirit of the tradition of “sugar skulls” that are often made in connection with this Mexican holiday.
This time, the crafting session will be without the help of a staff member but all materials and fun ideas will be provided on site along with instructions.
