About this Event
As part of , Onomatopee invites you to join a series of three one-day RISO zine workshops with participating artists Leonie Brandner, Müge Yılmaz, and Pei-Ying Lin.
Starting from the works presented in the exhibition and a prompt developed by each artist, a small group of participants will spend the day making, exchanging, and experimenting with images, texts, and found materials. Working hands-on through collage, drawing, writing, copying, and layering, each group will collectively develop a small two-color Risograph zine, then print and bind it together by the end of the day.
Participants are invited to bring their own images, texts, photographs, drawings, notes or other printed matter to work with. No previous risograph or design experience is required.
Session 1: Leonie Brandner
Tuesday, October 27 | 10:00 – 17:00
In this first session, Leonie invites us to map the space between personal heritage and deep geological time.
What to bring:
Grandparental memories: In whichever form makes sense to you (a photograph, an object, a written anecdote, or simply a story/memory).
A rock connection: Images of rocks, or a physical rock itself.
Using diagrams, free association, and collage, we will connect our lived experiences with "rock time," translating these layered narratives into a collaborative leporello (accordion-fold) zine. We will print the publication together in a striking palette of Crimson & Fluorescent Pink or Orange & Fluorescent pink.
