Meet us on site at 10am. We will meet at Staytite at Cressex Business Park, Staytite House, Coronation Rd, High Wycombe HP12 3RP. Limited parking is available at Cressex so why not try out the local public transport! Or if you are interested in a lift from the depot please email [email protected]. First come, first served!!
The session will finish at approximately 3pm.
The Task:
Join us at this really successful rewilding project where after just 3 months of transforming this former green desert of a ‘lawn’ we have thousands of ox-eye daisy, hundreds of buttercups, swathes of our beloved bird’s foot trefoil and dozens of orchids!
Today we need your help to put the wildflower meadow to bed for the winter with a cut and rake and some general care of the establishing hedgerow.
What to bring:
Please bring your gloves (we will have spares) and dress for the weather and the task.
Long trousers are advisable as there may be ticks and thorny vegetation. We also recommend wearing steel toe capped or sturdy boots rather than trainers.
Wear layers that you can remove if you get hot whilst working. Bring a waterproof as most of our sites have no shelter from the rain. Bring a hat and sun cream if it's sunny.
Please bring plenty of fluids and a packed lunch. We will bring a tea kit and biscuits.
Please note:
Biscuits are served at all Chiltern Rangers sessions. Please advise if you have an allergy.
Sometimes there is a need for us to use power tools that can be noisy.
