Busking for Justice: Bear Fox & Lydia GarrisonJoin us Friday, November 6, from 5:30–7:00 p.m. at Café Dewitt, Dewitt Mall, 215 N. Cayuga St., Ithaca, for an uplifting evening of music, community, and solidarity.
Mohawk singer-songwriter Bear Fox and Ithacan musician Lydia Garrison share a musical friendship that began in 2001, when Lydia visited the Akwesasne Mohawk Reservation on a high school cultural exchange and community service trip. Over the years, they’ve continued to inspire one another through songwriting, recording, and performing together.
Bear’s powerful singing and songwriting have deeply influenced Lydia, who recorded Bear’s song “Sky World” with Bear contributing vocals and instrumentation. Bear later invited Lydia to sing and play on her album Diamond. When they perform together, Bear’s songs and voice meet Lydia’s warm vocals and instrumental accompaniment in a collaboration rooted in friendship, mutual inspiration, and a shared love of music.
Busking for Justice brings our community together through music and solidarity. Donations support immigrants and families impacted by detention and deportation. Admission is free, and donations are encouraged.
Come enjoy an evening of beautiful music and community connection!
