About this Event
For our next Edinburgh Remakery Business Breakfast, we will be joined by Denisa Ogoyi, Sustainability Consultant at Boxfish, for a practical introduction to carbon reporting and what it means for organisations at every stage of their sustainability journey.
Rather than getting lost in terminology, this session will break carbon reporting down into practical, manageable steps, helping businesses, charities and public sector organisations better understand their emissions, the data they need, and how that information can support meaningful action.
Key topics covered:
- What carbon reporting is and why it is becoming increasingly important for organisations.
- Understanding Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions, and the difference between direct and indirect emissions.
- Common sources of emissions and the types of data organisations typically need to collect.
- The challenges of measuring emissions, particularly Scope 3 and how to make progress when your data isn't perfect.
- How to begin building a carbon footprint, even with incomplete or limited information.
- Real-world examples of how organisations are approaching carbon reporting and improving their data over time.
- How carbon reporting can help identify opportunities to reduce emissions, improve decision-making and contribute towards wider sustainability and Net Zero goals.
- Practical first steps you can take to begin or improve your organisation's carbon reporting journey.
Whether you are completely new to carbon reporting or already gathering sustainability data but aren't sure what comes next, this session will help demystify the process and give you practical ideas you can take back to your organisation.
As always, there will also be an opportunity to meet, connect and share ideas with other organisations over breakfast.
