About this Event
From Industry Engagement to Collaborative Action
New Jersey is ready to scale heat pumps in homes. Making that happen affordably and equitably takes everyone to the same table: contractors, utilities, state agencies, labor, manufacturers, and educators.
BILT-8 goes beyond a traditional workforce stakeholder meeting. Over a day and a half at the Rutgers Cook Student Center, the NJ Business and Industry Leadership Team (NJ-BILT) will work through the barriers holding residential heat pump adoption back. Together we will build labor-led, customer- and policy-focused solutions and set them up for real-world implementation.
Why attend
- Hear directly from state leaders at the NJ Board of Public Utilities and the NJ Department of Labor & Workforce Development, including a keynote from NJBPU Commissioner Emma Rebhorn.
- Get a clear picture of incentives across state- and utility-run energy efficiency and building decarbonization programs.
- Shape out the solutions. Contractor and utility roundtables feed a two-day Solutions Lab that produces concrete next steps.
- Focus on equity and affordability for low- and moderate-income households and multifamily buildings.
- Connect with peers through networking breaks, breakfasts, and lunch.
Who should attend
HVAC and heat pump contractors, utility program staff, state and local agency staff, labor and workforce organizations, manufacturers and distributors, training providers and educators, and community, housing, and multifamily stakeholders.
