Bushcraft Weekend Course | 10–11 October 2026Come and spend a weekend with us in the woods, learning practical skills, cooking over the fire and getting more comfortable outdoors.
Our Bushcraft Weekend is a natural next step after our beginners course, but you don’t need any previous experience to join us. If you’re keen to get stuck in, we’ll guide you through it.
Held within 1,500 acres of private woodland near May Hill, Gloucestershire, the weekend gives you time to practise, ask questions and build your confidence with the support of our instructors.
For us, bushcraft is about living comfortably alongside nature. We keep our courses friendly and relaxed, with small groups so everyone gets plenty of help and time to have a proper go.
Over the weekend, we’ll cover:
• Fire lighting and natural tinders
• Safe axe and knife skills
• Shelter building
• Traps and snares
• Game preparation, using rabbit, fish or pigeon depending on availability
• Campfire cooking
• Water sourcing, filtration and purification
• Making natural cordage
• Tool care, knife sharpening and responsible tool use, including knife law
We provide the tools needed for the course. You’ll just need to bring your camping equipment and the personal items on the kit list sent after booking.
Your weekend includes Saturday night camping and meals: Saturday lunch and evening meal, followed by breakfast and a light lunch on Sunday. Tea, coffee and soft drinks are included too. Feel free to bring extra snacks.
We start at 9am on Saturday with introductions and a safety briefing, finishing at 3.30pm on Sunday. You’re welcome to arrive on Friday evening by prior arrangement so you can settle into camp before we begin.
