🚂🏔️ Horseshoe Curve Train Trip – Altoona, PA 🍫💲 Cost: $119 per person
Calling all early birds! Join us bright and early as we depart the Community Center and head to the Johnstown Amtrak Station. From there, we’ll board the Pennsylvanian train for a scenic ride to Altoona.
Along the way, the train will slow as it navigates the famous Horseshoe Curve — a 220-degree engineering marvel — giving passengers an incredible view of this historic landmark and the surrounding mountain landscape.
🚉 Railroaders Memorial Museum
Upon arrival in Altoona, we’ll walk across the street to the Railroaders Memorial Museum, which highlights the history of railroad workers and rail communities in central Pennsylvania — especially Altoona, the Altoona Works, and the greater Pittsburgh region.
🍽️ Lunch at Prime Sirloin
Next, enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at Prime Sirloin (included).
🏔️ Horseshoe Curve National Historic Landmark
After lunch, we’ll visit the Horseshoe Curve National Historic Landmark for an up-close experience at this iconic site. This engineering masterpiece played a vital role in American industry and transportation history and features:

• Observation areas
• A gift shop
🍫 Sweet Stop
Before heading home, we’ll make one final stop at the Boyer Candy Store, where you can pick up treats for the ride back!
