About this Event
BUILT FOR MORE
Built for More is a FREE hands-on youth development and career exploration experience designed to give young men practical skills they can use today—and exposure to opportunities that can help shape their futures.
Presented by G Auto Body, KC Growth Foundation, and Echoes of the City KC, this interactive experience brings young men into a working automotive environment for a day of hands-on learning, career exposure, mentorship, financial education, and real conversations about life.
Throughout the day, participants will be divided into smaller groups and rotate through three interactive learning experiences:
🔧 GET HANDS-ON WITH AUTOMOTIVE SKILLS
Learn practical vehicle maintenance and roadside skills while getting hands-on exposure to the automotive industry, skilled trades, career pathways, and entrepreneurship opportunities.
💰 LEARN ABOUT MONEY & OWNERSHIP
Explore saving, budgeting, banking, credit, investing, vehicle ownership, homeownership, and how smart financial decisions can help create opportunities and build wealth over time.
🧠 LEARN TO THINK BEFORE YOU REACT
Participate in honest conversations about conflict resolution, emotional regulation, peer pressure, communication, consequences, and making decisions that protect your future.
MEN’S PANEL: “WHAT I WISH SOMEBODY HAD TOLD ME”
After the morning rotations, participants will hear from men representing business, entrepreneurship, skilled trades, finance, real estate, and other professional and life experiences.
They’ll talk about their journeys, mistakes, lessons, careers, and the things they wish someone had told them when they were younger—and give participants an opportunity to ask questions of their own.
