Building Together: Ally Pally Family Fun
Saturday 27th June 2026, 2pm-5pm
Creative Pavillion, East Wing, Alexandra Palace
Join RIBA Learning in the splendid surroundings of Alexandra Palace for an afternoon of building in paper as part of The London Festival of Architecture. Reflect on the history of Alexandra Palace, the home to the BBC and a hub for the community and think about how we build our worlds around the information and entertainment we share.
We will start with Ally Pally broadcasting out stories and ideas from the centre of our city map. Working to the brief, ‘what is a wonderful place to belong?’ will help us to build a city we want to live in together. Our ideas of belonging, gathered from old to young, will merge in paper buildings and scatter down the hillside to include us all.
LFA2026: Belonging
The London Festival of Architecture (LFA) is back for a month-long celebration of architecture and city-making in June 2026.
With activity happening across London, the Festival will once again be platform for conversation, testing new ideas, promoting emerging talent, helping shift us towards a more equitable, sustainable city.
Alexandra Palace
Alexandra Palace was opened in 1873, having been designed as the ‘Palace of the People’, to provide entertainment and recreation for the masses. Today the Park and Palace are run by a charity – the Alexandra Park and Palace Charitable Trust – which continues this mission by caring for and restoring the listed Palace and 196 acres of awarding-winning parkland, as well as delivering our year-round programme of cultural, leisure and learning.
RIBA Learning
The RIBA Learning programme provides exciting opportunities for everyone to explore, question and celebrate architecture. Our programme is inspired by the work of our members - past and present - and draws on our world-class collection holding more than four million items and RIBA's exhibitions.
When it reopens after a three-year refurbishment, our historic 1930s building on Portland Place, London will continue to host an exciting programme of events. In the meantime, we're working with various partners to offer of accessible and exciting programme elsewhere.
