About this Event
Every organisation has values. Very few have a language. Anyone can recite the words, but not everyone can speak the language, and the gap between the two is where culture quietly falls apart.
In this keynote, built on research with more than 1,000 frontline managers, internal comms and culture expert Shane Hatton makes a provocation to every communication professional in the room: you are not the performers of culture, and you are not the audience. You are the composers.
You write the score the whole band plays to, the shared language of stories, mantras and everyday phrases that turns values from words on a wall into a way of speaking.
The research says only a third of people leaders see shared language as an important ingredient of a healthy culture. They're wrong, and that blind spot is the single biggest opportunity the communication profession has.
This is the session that shows you how to claim it. Join IABC NSW, in partnership with Workvivo by Zoom, on 17th September for an evening with Shane Hatton.
You will walk away with:
- A new lens on language as culture's operating system — practical examples and a framework you can use to start building your own organisation's internal comms playbook.
- Real case studies from organisations that have cracked it — and the shared language that makes their culture stick.
- Understanding the craft behind the catchphrase — why the best phrases are both meaningful and memorable, and how to mine your own organisation for the language that's already trying to spread, including the language and stories coming directly from your frontline employees.
Following his keynote, Shane will answer audience questions as part of a fireside chat with Pia Broadley, Head of Sales, APAC at Workvivo by Zoom.
Values on a wall are free. A shared language is earned. Join us to learn how to write the score in your organisation.
