A two-day gathering bringing together Indigenous Wholistic Medicinal Methodologies and Western Medical Practices into conversation. The goal is to explore how both practices can support, mentor and instruct a wholistic pathway to healthy healing, and wellbeing.Mashkikiwaaboke (He/she makes liquid Medicine) a Medicine Healer’s Training program initiated by Esstin Niganobe(McLeod) a collaborative visionary perspective to recognizing Health Care centers that provide space for Medicine People/Healers to instruct healing healthy pathways for wellbeing. A program that initiates Western Health care practices and Indigenous Healing Methodologies to come together to instruct upcoming Anishinaabe Medicine Practitioner and healers, thereby instructing Integration of Clinical Anatomy and Spiritual Connections to Plant Base Remedies and Spiritual Healing.
This gathering celebrates the learners and emerging medicine healers to come together through mentorship and collaborative learning to share presentations drawing from their own teachings, learning experiences, and developing practices utilizing plant base medicines and spiritual insights.
The agenda will feature keynote speakers, a panel discussion, and a diverse range of presentations exploring Indigenous health, traditional medicines, wellness, and the relationship between different approaches to health and healing.
🌱 Keynote Speakers
Dr. Karen Hill will share from her experience as a physician who also practices and works with traditional medicine, offering a meaningful perspective on what it can look like when these ways of knowing and caring for health exist alongside one another.
Dr. Garfield MacIntosh will offer an in-depth look at the lymphatic system and its role in health and wellness, bringing another perspective to the connection between the body, health, and healing.
This gathering is an opportunity for healthcare professionals, traditional medicine practitioners, and community members to come together, learn from one another, and explore what respectful collaboration can look like in practice.
