About this Event
In this 1.5-hour workshop, our staff will guide you in building a house to support native Illinois wildlife. Each sesion will feature a different project. Materials will be provided and some pieces will be pre-cut/pre-measured. Currently scheduled sessions include:
Saturday, October 17: Build a bat house to support Illinois bat species.
Saturday, November 7: Build a birdhouse for black-capped chickadee (Poecile atricapillus), a common, native resident species in the northern two-thirds of Illinois.
Everyone five years of age and older is welcome to attend; but please note that participants will be using hand tools to assemble their birdhouse. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult; younger children may need adult help to complete the project.
Ticket Types:
There are two types of tickets available for this program; please read carefully to ensure you have selected the correct ticket for you.
House Builder Tickets are for the primary builder of the project. These are open to all ages. Each person with a "house builder" ticket will receive a kit to build a project. If Eventbrite shows these tickets are sold out, the event has reached capacity. Please feel free to contact us at [email protected] to ask about additional tickets/programs.
Adult Assistant Tickets are for adults who will be assisting young builders with their project. These tickets are for adults ages 18+, and these participants will not receive a proejct kit but will instead help another member of their party complete the project.
Reservations are recommended as space is limited.
