About this Event
About this event
Experiences of hate, hostility, discrimination and trauma can shake our confidence. They can leave us doubting ourselves, holding back from speaking up, avoiding certain places or people, or feeling less sure of who we are and what we deserve. This interactive workshop is designed to help you rebuild that confidence, at your own pace and in a supportive space.
Join us for a warm, practical session where you'll explore what confidence really means, what can knock it, and simple, realistic steps you can take to grow it again, whether that's speaking up for yourself, setting boundaries, handling difficult situations or simply feeling more like yourself.
Through facilitated discussion, real-world scenarios and reflective exercises, you'll leave with practical tools you can use straight away in your home life, work, studies and community.
This session is the third in a grassroots programme by Duha Collective, following our workshops on recognising and responding to hate and hostility, and recognising and responding to trauma. It has been developed in response to rising concerns around hostility, fear and misinformation affecting communities locally. You do not need to have attended the earlier sessions to join this one.
The workshop is open to all women, especially those who have faced hate, discrimination or other difficult experiences. Come with an open mind and a willingness to learn and support each other.
What you'll gain
- An understanding of what confidence is and what can affect it
- Practical techniques to manage self-doubt and negative self-talk
- Tools for speaking up, setting boundaries and handling difficult conversations
- Ways to build resilience and look after your wellbeing after difficult experiences
- A personal action plan with small, realistic steps you can take forward
