About this Event
Building a Transit-Oriented Puget Sound is a live conversation with Ray Delahanty of CityNerd and Ryan Packer of The Urbanist about the future of transit, housing, and urban development in Puget Sound. Ray Delahanty is an urban planner and content creator for CityNerd, focusing on transportation, housing, and planning; Ryan Packer is the Contributing Editor of The Urbanist, covering transportation, land use, public space, and traffic safety.
The highlight of the program is a live walkthrough of a new video by Ray Delahanty, focusing on the Link Light Rail, transit expansion, and the development of areas surrounding the station. Attendees will see a visual analysis before the content is released to the public.
Following the walkthrough, Ray and Ryan will discuss a big question: If Puget Sound continues to expand its transit system, what neighborhoods will we build around it? The conversation delves into housing, density, affordability, station-area development, and how transit and housing planning can coexist, rather than viewing them as two separate issues.
This program is for anyone interested in Seattle and the future of Puget Sound—from urbanists, planners, architects, developers, and transportation professionals to simple residents wanting to understand how their city will change.
