Building a Statewide SGO Strategy for Public School Students

This meeting will convene stakeholders to develop a coordinated statewide approach to establishing and supporting Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs) that direct private donations toward K-12 scholarships benefiting public school students. With the federal Education Freedom Tax Credit taking effect in 2027, offering individual donors up to a $1,700 annual dollar-for-dollar tax credit for contributions to qualified SGOs, there is a timely opportunity to build infrastructure that maximizes impact for Kentucky public education.
