About the presenter:
Alexandra Howell is a creative director, artist, producer, and community builder, and the Founder and Executive Director of On Task, a multidisciplinary arts and community non-profit supporting accessible, experimental approaches to building and programming creative hubs in formerly underutilized spaces.
With over two decades of experience in small press, live music, and comedy production across five countries (and counting!), she has developed a wide range of collaborative programming including workshops, live events and tours, social clubs, community markets, art exhibitions, support groups, and more. Her work focuses on building practical, innovative, and collaborative structures for turning ideas into real-world events and creative projects outside of traditional institutions, with an emphasis on removing barriers and unnecessary pretension from creative practice.
Through On Task, Alexandra supports artists and organizers in developing, testing, and delivering their ideas through hands-on experimentation, skill-building, and community collaboration. Her approach is grounded in helping people move from concept to execution, whether they are hosting an event, building a series, or developing a creative practice.
