Celebrate the season by creating your own Buckeye Moon Shadowbox, a botanical-inspired piece featuring a real preserved Buckeye butterfly nestled alongside a crescent moon of dried florals, natural elements and woodland textures.
Using a 4×6 black shadowbox, you’ll create your own crescent moon composition with a curated selection of preserved botanicals, moss, dried citrus, florals, and decorative natural elements. While everyone will begin with similar materials, you’ll have the freedom to arrange and personalize your design, making every finished piece completely unique.
Throughout the workshop, I’ll guide you through composition, layering, balance, and working with your preserved butterfly so your finished shadowbox feels polished, cohesive, and ready to display. No previous experience is required.

• A real preserved Buckeye butterfly
• A 4×6 black shadowbox
• Tools & adhesive
• Preserved moss, dried florals, botanicals, dried citrus, and decorative natural elements

✨ Optional Personal Touch
You’re welcome to bring a few small decorative items to incorporate into your shadowbox, such as crystals, pressed botanicals, meaningful keepsakes, or other lightweight embellishments. While completely optional, these little additions are a fun way to make the piece feel even more like your own.
Every shadowbox will reflect its maker. Differences in botanical placement, textures, decorative elements, and personal additions mean no two finished pieces will ever be exactly alike.
Whether you’re already an oddities lover or simply want to spend an afternoon making something a little different, Buckeye Moon is designed to be approachable for complete beginners while still giving you plenty of room to get creative.
✨ Important Registration Information
Your order confirmation serves as your only confirmation for this workshop. Separate reminder emails will not be sent prior to the class, so please save the date and event details when registering. Attendees are responsible for remembering the workshop date and time and arriving as scheduled.
Workshop Policy: Due to limited seating and advance material purchases, workshop registrations are non-refundable. If you’re unable to attend, please contact me as soon as possible. At my discretion, I may be able to transfer your registration to another workshop, issue store credit, or allow you to transfer your spot to someone else.
